The government reminds China-linked companies to ensure strict compliance with the ban of 59 Apps

The Group coordinator of Cyber Laws and E-Security Rakesh Maheswari wrote an e-mail directing the companies to ensure strict compliance. In order of banning 59 apps including some famous ones like TikTok, Share It, Club Factory, UC Brwoser, and Cam Scanner in the country.

He further warned that if any of the listed applications were still available or are still running then it would be an offense under the Information technology Act and would lead to warrant penal provisions. The ban of 59 apps was a retaliatory step because of India – China border issues, which led to the death of 20 Indian Army Personnel being killed while serving the nation.
