CBI team reaches Mumbai to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput case

A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) went on Thursday to investigate the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Supreme Court to hand over the investigation of the case to the CBI. CBI officials did not answer any questions from reporters at the airport after reaching Mumbai.

Earlier, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh held a meeting with Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh regarding this matter. Deshmukh had said on Wednesday that the Maharashtra government would provide all assistance to the CBI in the Sushant case.

Meanwhile, officials have said that the CBI team that arrived for investigation will not be quarantined. On August 19, the Supreme Court upheld the FIR lodged in Patna and asked the central agency to investigate. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Rai also said that the Bihar government is capable of recommending a probe by the CBI.

The court also asked the Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidence collected so far to the CBI. The Maharashtra government refused to challenge the court order.
