It will soon acquire a heron from Israel and a mini-drone from the US to greatly enhance its capabilities. Through them, surveillance will be increased along the entire Indian border with China including East Ladakh.
The deal to acquire the Heron surveillance drone is scheduled to be held in December next month. The drone will be deployed in the Ladakh region and is more advanced than the drones currently held by the Indian Army.
He said that this defense deal is being done under the emergency financial power given by the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the defense forces. Under this emergency financial power, Indian forces are acquiring weapons worth Rs 500 crore for fighting with China on the border.
