The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an organization of traders, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against e-commerce companies. In this letter, the organization has accused the e-commerce companies of violating the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rules.
According to the letter, businesses across the country are eager to adopt the e-commerce business in support of the Digital India program. But large e-commerce companies are consistently violating FDI policies and other laws.
This is hampering the adoption of e-commerce by traders. CAIT has urged the Prime Minister to take necessary action against such e-commerce companies. In a letter to the Prime Minister, CAIT has also urged the formation of an empowered authority for the regulation of e-commerce business.
CAIT general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that it is unfortunate for various departments to fail to comply with government policies and laws.
