CBI sent notice to more than 100 factories

CBI engaged in investigation of coal smuggling case has sent notice to more than 100 factories located in South Bengal including Asansol-Durgapur Industrial Area. According to CBI sources, the gang leader Lala used to supply stolen coal in these factories.

CBI has come to know that Lala was not only willing to take control of small and big private factories but also a factory of a big government institution like SAIL. The syndicate which ran under Lala's leadership supplied thousands of tons of coal to various factories.

Stolen coal was supplied to various factories in Asansol, Durgapur, Jamuria, Raniganj, Barjoda, Mejia and Purulia in Bankura district. Notices have been sent to the owners of those factories. CBI wants to know that they want Lala Why did you buy coal?

Was there any pressure on them or were they supplied at low prices. How and how much coal did they get and how much coal did they need. The role of some CBI Cell officers and CISF is also being explored.

It is worth noting that in this case, some officials of CBI Eastern Coalfields Limited have also been questioned and now the owners of private factories are being sent notices and preparing to cross-examine them. Sources say that important facts can come out in the inquiry. Many influential people can also have a hand in it.
