The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized assets worth Rs 11.86 crore of 83-year-old Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of the National Conference.
ED took this action in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. In connection with the alleged scam of 43.69 crores during the tenure of Farooq, who was the President of The ED has seized Farooq Abdullah and his three other properties including his two houses in the state. Farooq's residence located on Gupakar Road in Srinagar is leased on State Land.
At the same time, houses located at Bathindi in Jammu are also on State Land and Forest Land. The money came for the construction of the stadium between 2002 and 2011, the BCCI gave Rs 113 crore for the development of cricket facilities in the state and the construction of a cricket stadium in Bajalta. Out of this, there was an alleged scam of Rs 43.69 crore.
