Mount Everest's height increased: Here is why

Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, has already risen. However, this increase is just 86 centimeters. Nepal and China jointly announced that the new height of Mount Everest is now 8848.86 meters. This height is 86 centimeters higher than the height measured by the Survey of India in the year 1954.

Ever since the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015, there was speculation that the height of Mount Everest has changed. Only after these speculations did the Nepal government measure the exact height of Everest Decided Now the controversy has come to an end after the latest measurement.

Foreign Minister of Nepal Pradeep Gyawali said in Kathmandu that the height of Mount Everest has been restructured and now its height has been increased to 8,848.86 meters. In the past, China measured 8,844.43 meters of Mount Everest, which was four meters lower than Nepal's count.

Media reports stated that Chinese surveyors conducted six rounds of Mount Everest elevation and scientific research, and released the peak twice, in 1975 and 2005, at 8,848.13 meters and 8,844.43 meters, respectively. Mount Everest in the Tibetan language is called Chomolungma.
