Petroleum marketing companies have increased the price of non-subsidized kitchen LPG cylinders by Rs 50. After this increase, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder available at the market price is Rs 694. Domestic companies have raised the price of LPG for the second time this month amid rising crude prices in international markets.
With the new increase, the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders in Kolkata is now Rs 720.50, Rs 694 in Mumbai and Rs 710 in Chennai. There is a difference in the price due to varying VAT rates at the local level. On December 1 also, petroleum companies had increased the price of LPG cylinders available at the market price.
However, the companies did not increase the price of LPG till the first December after July. Petroleum companies on Wednesday also raised the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) ie fuel used in aircraft by 6.3 percent. After this increase, the price of ATF has increased to Rs 49,161.16 per kiloliter.
On December 1, the price of ATF was increased by 7.6 percent. LPG consumers get 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg LPG gas a year with a subsidy. Consumers are required to pay the full price while taking the cylinder and the subsidy amount is sent directly to their bank account. However, if consumers need more than 12 cylinders in a year, then they have to buy the remaining cylinders at the market price.
