Central Government Ask WhatsApp to withdraw privacy policy for users

The central government does not approve the proposed privacy policy of WhatsApp. The government has asked the company to withdraw the privacy policy from WhatsApp's proposed privacy policy, given the threat of privacy of Indian users and the risk of security.

The government has also strongly objected to the discrimination against Indian users in the privacy policy. Electronics and the Ministry of IT have also asked for answers to 14 questions from WhatsApp. The policy was announced to be implemented, but in view of the possibility of data security breach and opposition to the matter, the company has postponed the implementation of the policy till May 15.

Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted that WhatsApp, Facebook, or any other social media can do business in India but the rights of Indians are not violated.
