A Sub Inspector of Delhi Police committed suicide in an ambulance while being taken to the hospital. Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Rajbir Singh (39). He was posted in the South Eastern District Line and was mentally unwell.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) R.P. Meena said that Rajbir Singh was reported to have committed suicide by hanging his clothes in the ambulance. Singh was being taken from the house to the hospital during the incident. He was on leave for five days and was found absent in the district line on Friday.
According to police, the sub-inspector called Cats Ambulance at his residence and went to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, but doctors refused to admit him. Subsequently, another ambulance called to taken to the hospital Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), but due to the absence of assistants, the doctors refused to admit him there. Police said they were then taken to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital from the same ambulance, where the doctors asked the ambulance in-charge to prepare the slip.
