Decision on ban on burqas postponed in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan government has postponed it for a few days after the decision to ban the wearing of the burqa in the country. The Sri Lankan government has said that the government is not yet moving the decision-making process on the burqa. 

Now it will be decided by consensus. No decision on this issue was taken at the weekly meeting of the Cabinet of the Government of Sri Lanka. Later Sri Lankan senior minister and government spokesperson Kehlia Rambukwela said that the decision to ban the burqa will be taken after deliberations and consensus. The government will not make a hasty decision to ban the burqa. 

The decision on this will be made after gathering all the information and keeping national security in mind. The government was criticized by Pakistan Ambassador Saad Khatak after the Sri Lankan government's decision to ban the burqa in the country.
