Economy in better condition than last year: Subramanian

The country's Chief Economic Advisor Krishnamurthy Subramanian said on Friday that the economy is in a better position due to the availability of vaccines this time than the previous Kovid-19 wave. In an event organized by e-commerce giant Amazon, he said that the uncertainty is quite low this time. Overall, we are in a better position this time than last time.

The reason for this is that the process of vaccination is going on at a rapid pace. But people need to be vigilant and be careful. Subramanian said that during the epidemic, the country has increasingly adopted online buying and digitization of goods. 800 million people in the country were supplied essential commodities through the public distribution system. Cash transfers were made through Jan Dhan, Aadhaar Mobile (JAM) accounts. On the other hand, financial assistance was given through checks in developed countries like the US which took more than two months.
