Children of working women in Haryana from 6 months to 6 years will be able to stay in crèche for 8-10 hours

The Haryana State Creche Policy-2022, formulated by the Women and Child Development Department, has recently been notified in Chandigarh. This policy aims to provide support to working women by offering admission to their children, aged between 6 months and 6 years, in creches. These creches will be designed to accommodate children for 8 to 10 hours, catering to the needs of working parents.

To ensure the well-being and safety of the children, the creches will be staffed with skilled and trained personnel under the Haryana Kanya Kosh and Rajkiya Nari Samman Nidhi (HKRNL). The creche workers will receive a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, while the helpers will be paid Rs 7,500.

In an effort to promote a family-friendly work environment, the Haryana State Creche Policy-2022 mandates that all institutions employing more than 50 individuals must establish creches within their premises. This requirement will help working parents balance their professional and personal responsibilities more effectively
