Salman announced Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 during a function held in Mumbai ahead of the release of NTR Jr and Ram Charan starrer RRR. Salman attended the function as the chief guest on the invitation of the film's director SS Rajamouli. Salman said to Karan Johar, who is hosting the event. Before I knew Rajamouli, I knew his father (KV Vijayendra Prasad), because he gave me one of the best films of my career, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Now he has written its second part as well.

Salman said, about the Actors of the film NTR Jr. and about Ram Charan, both have worked hard for the film. My trainer used to drop me off and go to Charan. I know the hardships the phases have gone through. Whenever they used to meet, they used to say that ah… it is hurting. I have been going through such pain for the last thirty years, so I can understand their pain.
